Dragon Koi by Skelos Dragon Koi by Skelos
A koi transformation progress design. I'm not satisfied with the scales, I know they are off. But feel free to critique. =)

I actually think your scales are fine.As tricky as they are in my opinion scales really don't have a particular size or pattern they should be laid out in :)..it's your style so go nuts

A trick I've known a lot of tattoo artists use for problems like this is to shape it in a little clay. Make a tiny koi clay figure and draw the lines on it. That way it's easier to see the dimensions and shapes, directions, ect. Other than the scales, I love it. It's a fantastic concept with a fantastic follow through. Good job.

Thanks for the comment. The clay idea is a good idea. I even have a tiny bendy fish keychain thing that I never even thought could be useful till now. Normally scales aren't as difficult for me as they were on this one. I think I may do a quality scan and photoshop them out and try a do over on the scales. Anyway I'm glad you like it anyway! =D

I'd love to see the remake! Btw, did you actually tattoo that blue flower?
